Frequently Asked Question
If you use Windows 11 Home edition, your account is linked to a Microsoft account and you have Windows Hello/PIN set up, then Windows may only show the PIN entry or Windows Hello entry options at sign in.
If your Microsoft account gets locked, you may find yourself unable to log in to Windows until the lock has expired.
You can log in with your password, but the entry box is hidden and unable to be accessed.
Can show it again by changing this reg key and restarting
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device
DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion DWORD 0 = Off 2 = On
Setting to 0 - Off allows pasword box to show again
Once this option is set, you'll see "Sign-in options" below your account name at the logon screen and by clicking on that you can select "Password". Enter your password and you should be able to log on.
